Mets’ Ticket Sales Down

“The New York Mets’ recent goodwill gesture for their fans fell just a bit flat.

The team was holding a “Runs=$avings” promotion where every run that they scored during last week’s six-game road trip would result in $1 off tickets in select seating locations on their upcoming homestand. However, the Mets scored just ten runs in the first road series against the last-place Cincinnati Reds and a mere five runs during the second series against the Philadelphia Phillies (which saw one of the three games postponed due to a rainout). The result was a grand total of $15 savings, a figure that was hardly inspiring.”
